We here at UNEX hope that you had a safe and Happy New Year. Each year, New Years represents a clean slate from the last year and a fresh start going forward. For UNEX, this is especially true of 2014. Much of 2013 has been spent conceptualizing and laying the foundation for our new brand. This all culminated last month with the launch of the brand new UNEX.com.
However, a new slogan and a new website were only the first phase of our new identity. The real challenge lies in communicating that message. We understand that it is one thing to claim that we are the pickability people and quite another thing to show it. It’s one thing to have a website look great and quite another to have it be great (Hi Healthcare.gov!) Talk is cheap.
That is why, this year, we relish the challenge of demonstrating that we truly are the leaders in the industry. We are the pickability experts and we can’t wait to prove it to you every day.
But to prove this rebranding effort was worthy undertaking, we had to get our message out. Once everything was in place and our employees had been trained, we began to direct customers to the website through coordinated email blasts, social media campaigns and even print literature kits. We wanted to communicate not only that we had a new website but that we had a new identity. And our new website was a vital cog in that new identity but it wasn’t our only change.
One thing that we determined last year was that our product identities weren’t clearly defined enough. We are extremely proud of our carton flow products and will continue to be the industry-leader in that area, but far too often we got the dreaded “I didn’t know you did that” in reference to our other products, such as pallet conveyor. We wanted to clean up our structure in an effort to better communicate our product offering, because when it comes to pickability, we are the full package.
Another improvement we have made going into 2014 is our Quick Ship program for our Gravity Conveyor line. We guarantee shipping within 72-hours on our gravity conveyor.
Finally, we merged our Flow Bed and Span-Track lines to make one industry-leading carton flow line. We also made some improvements to the Span-Track line that we will talk about in-depth next week.
