The New Jersey Business & Industry Association provides information, services and advocacy to its member companies in order to build a more prosperous New Jersey. We are the nation’s largest statewide employer association. Our members, as a group, employ more than one million people. Founded in 1910, as the New Jersey Manufacturers Association, this organization began as a group of manufacturers who wanted to share ideas about workplace safety while having a say in government policies affecting their businesses. The Association later formed New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance to protect their members with workers compensation insurance. As the New Jersey Manufacturers Association entered the last 25 years of the 20th century, the makeup of its membership changed dramatically, reacting to changes in the overall economy. For this reason, the Association changed its name to the New Jersey Business & Industry Association in the mid-1970s.
The Material Handling Society New Jersey is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting material handling professionals by providing an educational forum and fostering communication among New Jersey’s manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution practitioners. The MHSNJ will provide a vehicle through which its members gain a vision of the future regarding material handling principles, practices, systems, and technologies. With this increased awareness and knowledge, MHSNJ members shall be prepared to meet the challenges ahead and contribute to the productivity and efficiency of the organizations that employ them as material handling professionals.
